Villa Viegas has much to offer.
The first one being – relaxing by the pool at the Intercontinental ! Which is a first-class experience. Villa Viegas guests can enjoy the pool for free, without encountering the usual £8 per day fee for non-residents. Pool passes for all guests are included as part of your stay.
Villa Viegas guests are free to enjoy all the hotel facilities as they wish, with a special 10% discount offered on food and drinks at the hotel’s many bars and restaurants.
The Intercontinental is host to the Grand Greens, the country’s first Links Golf Course. It is a 9-hole golf course with 27 Gents and 9 Ladies tees playing to Par 36. Villa Viegas guests are entitled to a 20% discount for all fees and equipment hire – so a 9-hole round (with carts, caddies, clubs etc) would work out at around £20.
For a wonderful bit of pampering, the hotel also has a fully-certified Champneys Spa offering holistic and beauty treatments at very reasonable prices. For example, £35 will buy you an hour long facial, a proper ayurvedic massage or a full body wrap treatment. A full list of treatments is available at the Villa.
The secluded beach at the Intercontinental offers a whole host of watersport activities such as speed boats, jet skis, wind-surfing, water-skiing, parasailing...as well as more leisurely pursuits, such as archery and clay pigeon shooting.
For the more adventurous, the area surrounding the villa has many other attractions too. There is a Spice Farm, expeditions to go canyoning and trekking (discovering waterfalls and back country) – as well as cruises from Palolem Beach to go fishing, snorkelling, looking for dolphins or enjoying the sunset.
There are many more remote beaches to be discovered along the coastline, involving wonderful rides along rivers or going up into the mountains. Anything from scooters to Enfields, to taxis and rickshaws, can be hired for day trips, or just to potter around Palolem and Patnem.
Yogic and ayurvedic Centres abound in the vicinity; as well as fun and funky beachfront restaurants serving the most delicious cuisine served to good standard. For people who like to party, there are a few all-night bars, and full-on beach parties especially over the Christmas and New Year period. However, generally Palolem is alot more relaxed than the North of Goa with its constant party scene. Palolem is a place to relax and unwind ! And melt into a Goan pace.
